In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top five news and magazines applications on the Android platform in Kenya showed varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides an insightful look into the trends for each app.

Opera News: breaking & local maintained a consistent weekly download range, peaking at 10.9K in early November and dipping to its lowest at 6.3K in mid-December. Active users saw a slight decline from 246.5K at the start of the quarter to 222.9K by the end of December.

Citizen Digital experienced a steady increase in downloads, reaching a high of 11.1K in early November. Active users fluctuated, starting at 120.5K in late September and ending the year at 124.4K.

Mozzart Sport Kenya had a notable peak in weekly downloads at 8.1K in late October. Active users also showed an overall upward trend, starting at 71K and slightly decreasing to 70.7K by the end of December.

Twitter Lite saw its highest downloads of 8.2K in early November, with a general decline towards the end of the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 11.1K to 12.4K throughout the period.
